ok just had an idea. an idiom website like urbandictionary.com
hmmm i just had another idea. everyone will steal my ideas off my new site because i have many ideas.
hmmm it’s difficult to capture tone online and especially sarcasm. i feel as though i am pretty good at picking up sarcastic comments over im though.
ps it’s interesting to have captured a complete thought process above, like how the brain works and topics flow into each other.
so here’s what makes a joke funny:
- you recognize a funny situation
- you make a witty joke about it
- your witty joke contains funny words or phrasing
all of those 3 options require intelligence. to detect the situation, think of a funny scenario and some good words to make it funny.
ok so why is he talking about this. because some people can have one and lack the others. some have none. but it’s interesting to see.
the one you’re born with is 1. that’s kinda of instinctive, but 2 can be learned and so can 3.
some 45 year old dude on my team has very strong 1 skills, decent 2 skills, but absolutely horrendous 3 skills.
i know what you’re thinking…. is it possible to teach 2 and 3 skills????
you bet your ass there is… and i’m knee deep in it!
